Position Description

Job Title: RN - Med Surg
Location: Detroit, MI
Pay Rate: $40-$45/hr.
Duration: 13-week contract with potential to extend
Shift Hours: 1900-0730 3x12s rotating schedule, every other weekend required.

Required Details:
Minimum 2-3 years Med Surg experience
Current MI RN licensure
BLS certification from AHA
Candidate must be able to work with minimal supervision.
Candidates with previous travel experience are highly preferred.
Unit is a Med Surg unit that sees a lot of respiratory conditions and some substance/alcohol abuse withdraw.
They also see general Med Surg patients, but the large portion will be respiratory conditions.

Job Summary:
Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation, to provide, delegate, supervise and document care and teaching of patients and family. Effectively communicates pertinent patient/family information to health care team. Participates in finding solutions for variances from patient goals and ensures implementation of solutions.

Required Skills & Experience:
-Clinical knowledge and analytical abilities necessary to formulate effective nursing care plans within the unit/department to which staff is assigned.
-Ability to perform a wide variety of professional nursing services.
-Ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and hospital personnel.
